New member: Richard Wise

Richard Wise is a self-employed graphic designer, originally from Oxford and now based in London.

He studied for a graphics degree at Middlesex University and then worked for a couple of Oxford-based agencies – Hand in Glove then The Good Communicator Company – before embarking on a self-employed career which led to co-founding Brand Blue, with clients including BT and Ernst & Young.

In 2004 Richard joined the Public Affairs Office of the University of Oxford where he was responsible for the design and publication of the UG and PG prospectuses, annual reports and other celebratory University materials.

Then, in 2007, a move to London and seventeen years working for INTO University Partnerships designing brochures, websites, presentations, reports, wayfinding and environmental graphics, as well as acting as brand guardian for INTO and its university partners across the US, UK and Australia. His wayfinding work for INTO’s on-campus study centres has been published in several showcase design books.

Looking for a quieter life, Richard is now self-employed again, working on brand identity, wayfinding and environmental graphics, but with time to also explore his drawing skills using traditional and digital media.
